Throughout the book of Judges we continually hear the phrase, “And in those days, every man did what he thought was right in his own eyes.” It seems we find ourselves in a very similar situation today.
The Israelites continually found themselves falling away from God’s Will and slipping back into captivity. Because of this continued behavior, many different heroes stood up as God’s chosen to deliver the Israelites.
God calls us to do what is right in God’s eyes, not our own. Like Gideon, many of us find ourselves hiding from living out God’s public calling on our lives.
It is time we climb out of the pit and do God’s work in these troubling times.
