The last 1000 years of human history have been fraught with war, famine, disease and all manner of pain and sorrow. Only in the most recent century has the average human life been anything but nasty brutish and short. Yet this century has also see war and destruction beyond belief. As God’s people however, we live for the future not the past. Our thoughts and efforts are focused on what will be, a time when the sorrows of the last 1000 years will fade from memory. Kurt Hoyer and his wife Jennifer live in Fairfax Virginia. Kurt graduated from Ambassador College in 1988 and worked for the Church of God in a variety of teaching roles. He recently retired after 22 years as a diplomat with the U.S. Department of State serving both the United States and the Church of God in a variety of countries around the world.
