As we encountered with planning the Feast of Tabernacles, planning for this year's Winter Family Weekend has hit major obstacles.
Please pray for God to make clear what we need to do for this year. In short, we need a miracle and guidance from Him to pull this all together this year.

What has made the Winter Family Weekend in Lexington so successful? After all, there are weekend sports events in many areas of the country at many different times of the year.
The WFW actually started in Amarillo, Texas in the early 80’s. We recognized immediately that the key factor was spiritual. So we built our activity around the Sabbath. You could play basketball or volleyball at any tournament. In fact, you could hear a sermon at most of those events. But we added something that could not be found at any other event of this type.
We decided to utilize the Sabbath as a time of genuine teaching. That’s one of the reasons God created the Sabbath—for man to learn. So we added seminars on a variety of subjects for a variety of age groups. And the attendance immediately doubled.
Then we learned that the Church of God is loaded with talented people from all walks of life who are capable of communicating great ideas. That caused seminars to grow from four or five to a dozen and even more. This year we will have twenty or more seminars on as many different subjects. I know of no other event that offers such an opportunity to learn about God in such a concentrated period of time.
We’ve also learned that there are other qualified teachers in our midst whose gifts are not known outside their local group. Maybe you know of just such a person. Or maybe there’s a subject you would like to know more about and your opinion has never been asked.
We’re giving you that opportunity. Tell me who you think could present a seminar that would benefit members of the Church of God. Or suggest a subject that you would like to see taught at the WFW.
The 2019 Lexington Winter Family Weekend will be a time of spiritual teaching and joyful fellowship for the whole Body of Christ.
