Feast Of Tabernacles Presentations

The Vision

Abraham was one of the greatest men that “ever walked the earth yet he died not having received the promises.” An internal vision gave Abraham Faith in spite of physical surroundings. It was a greatness that came from the inside transcending external circumstances. The Feast of Tabernacles illustrates that great Vision.

Jim O’Brien serves as pastor to the Church of God Cincinnati that hosts the Winter Family Weekend in Lexington, Kentucky. He authors a weekly newsletter and travels widely to speak to sabbatarian congregations. Jim resides in West Chester, Ohio with his wife Donna.

When Light Meets Dark, Light Wins

Two objects cannot occupy the same space at the same time. That phrase has been adopted from a quantum physics principle. Our God has a similar, spiritual principle. Godliness and godlessness cannot occupy our spiritual lives at the same time. We will look at the story of the Philistines placing the ark of God next to their idol Dagon. God teaches the Philistines, the children of Israel and us a very valuable lesson: When you place the light
of God next to the forces of darkness, the light of God always wins!

Herb Hanson is an elder and associate pastor in the Detroit congregation of the Church of God International where he lives with his wife Anika, and their five children. They directed the INFUSE program for CGI and helped produce the church magazine.

Just like our forebears, we live in a foreign world – in this world but not of this world. Who do we look to and where are our hearts focused? The journey is just as important as the destination, but we only want to linger in “Babylon” for as long as is necessary. Jesus is coming!

John Klassek is the writer of the inspirational book Hope of the Resurrection which is currently in its fourth edition. He makes use of his background in graphic design and IT Support to create MessageWeek Ministries, streaming over 500 short gospel films. Philoxenos – a Way to Make This a Great Feast

It seems almost like a law that when we give to others what we ourselves want, others respond with what we need. Jesus put it this way: “So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.” Lets talk about “philoxenos” and how doing it can make this a memorable feast for your brethren – and for you!

Guy Swenson and his wife Jennifer launched Camp Outreach in Indianapolis to serve impacted neighborhoods. Their efforts have exploded from a neighborhood program to a community-changing ministry. Guy’s messages reveal how the Gospel changes lives at the grass roots level.

Life In The Fast Lane

David Freeman says “Fast foods, immediate answers on Google, unlimited access to knowledge on the internet, instant credit, get it right now. All of this is a representation of the life that many people live, Life in the Fast Lane. In the bible you never see Jesus in a hurry to meet the next appointment. Life in the fast lane means that you are moving so fast through life that you fail to enjoy the ride. What are we missing living life in the fast lane?”

Zeroing In On Your Calling

Bill asks “Why did God call you? Are you called to do something memorable like Daniel the prophet, or Moses, or Paul? Or are you a private in an army of Christian soldiers? If that’s your role, what does God want you to do? Does he want you to use a spiritual gift? If so, what is that gift? And how should you use it? These questions seem difficult and often go unanswered for many Christians. But could it be more straight forward than we might imagine? This message aims to help us all ground ourselves in Gods will for our personal calling.”

The Greatest Mystery of Life

When Jesus sent out the twelve He said that it would be more tolerable in the Day of Judgment for the people of Sodom and Gomorrah than for cities that would not hear their message. The men of Sodom had been dead for over a thousand years so how could there be hope for cities where even God could not find ten righteous people?

This sermon will explain the great mystery revealed in God’s Plan to save mankind when Jesus returns to resurrect the dead.

Growing Grace Based Relationships

In this message “Growing Grace-based Relationships”, Guy Swenson explores the continuing impact of Calvinism and how it shapes our understanding of how God’s grace leads to a high commitment/highly intimate relationship. God extends grace when His relationship with us is the most strained, the most conflicted and the least close.

We can extend grace in our conflicts to lead to better, more highly committed relationships with the healthy intimacy everyone wants.
