In arguing for the historical accuracy of the Bible’s account of the history of Israel there are a number of known anchor points on which any timeline must be built. These events and dates serve to limit the fantasies of those who do not believe the Bible is accurate, and also help confirm the faith of believers. We will take a look at a number of these points to see what they can tell us about their times and the Biblical histories and also as examples of how archaeology illuminates the world of the Bible.

Kurt Hoyer and his wife Jennifer live in Fairfax Virginia. Kurt graduated from Ambassador College in 1988 and worked for the Church of God in a variety of teaching roles. He recently retired after 22 years as a diplomat with the U.S. Department of State serving both the United States and the Church of God in a variety of countries around the world.
