Herb Hanson lives in Detroit, MI with his wife Anika and their five children. He graduated from the University of Michigan in 1999 and has worked in website development for over 20 years. He currently serves as the Associate Director of Digital Development for the Jewish Federation of Metro Detroit.

After growing up in the Baptist church, Herb committed to Sabbath worship at the Feast of Tabernacles in 2001. He began attending a variety of Sabbath-keeping groups with Anika. While living in Washington, DC, they forged a relationship with the CGI congregation under Elder Mike James.

Since 2010, Herb has been a member of the CGI congregation in Detroit, under Elder Bronson James.

Herb has served as an Elder in CGI since 2019.
